RMIT University

The University is good, impressive. The best part is that it has got some computer labs which are open 24 x 7, which makes it very convenient to plan out ur routine. The computers are all well equipped and with the latest softwares. Also we were given a quota of storage space which is accessible from anywhere through the internet, that means u can access it right from ur home.
Also the library here is big and very rich. we also have the liberty of issuing digital equipments so trying to make the best of it. And now comes the best part . We have three subjects and the classes for them are only weekly. So no more regular classes, an awesome thing for we PDites. But they make sure that we do enough work throughout the week to be there in the class with loads of work to show.My faculties are very helpful, and the best part is that its easy to follow what they say. No problems at all. So in a nutshell , nice place to live and work.
Also the other priorities include traveling in and around Melbourne. Not always we went in groups because of the different timings of the others, but i had a lot of fun exploring Melbourne alone. Clicking a lot of pictures here too. Thanks to the digital cams, i wonder how expensive it would have been to get the pictures from a manual camera if i took pictures at this rate..

Arrived in Melbourne, sound , safe and sleepy.

From Malaysia, our flight took off late and we arrived at 8 pm in Melbourne. Soumitri was there at the airport and then we took a taxi back home. I and Jacob had looked up for an accomodation through orkut and we had to head towards Braybrooks, a suburb.
The house was very nice and impresive. We were plain lucky to have found that house sitting right at home. The rest had to struggle to find accomodation. I must say we were so lucky. The landlords were also very nice and friendly, and to top it all they had a home theater. :) From the next day we had RMIT orientation programme where we had to chose our courses and other formalities. And all this at 3 degree temeperature.. It was soooooo cold in Melbourne but still quite enjoyable.

The city is one of the very well planned ones. The CBD, Central Business District is the main area of the city which has towering buildings and all the importanat places. Its divided into a grid form so its easy to locate each and every place. The transport system was the most impressive. You need to buy one Metcard ( ticket ) and thats valid for trains trams and buses. And the trains , trams and buses follow a time table which makes it convenient to plan your trips. Mast hai !

My phusst ISD flight !

Aahaa... my phusst ISD flight ( thanks to Eshaa who coined the term ), so now it seemed that i was getting some excitement. I was expecting international flights to be really huge and with comfortable seats but sadly it was not. All luxuries only for the Business class passengers .. Damn... Anyways.. Himaka, me Mehek and Eshaa had our seats together and had lots of fun in the plane. We did that typical PD act of reclining the chairs together, causing great discomfort to the passengers at the back. Hee Hee ! Everything was good, nice air hostesses, nice wine and a great flight ! Soon we reached Kuala Lumpur airport. I had heard a lot about it from my relatives so was quite excited to see what was it really like. We had a connecting flight from there to Melbourne and we had 3 hrs to explore the airport.

As soon as i landed on the foreign soil ( though there wasn't any )it was sunrise and we were in one of the best Airports of the World. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was big, clean and had an impressive architecture. Soon we started clicking and exploring the place.
You know what they call gates in their language, they are called " Pintu ".I wonder what will Pintu's mum from Ludhiana do when she sees them.

The trip to the Promised Land starts !

So finally it was the day ! We were ready and all bags packed ( some over packed ) and we all came to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. It was my first international flight so i was expecting that i will be very very over excited but sadly everything was just calm and normal. So good on that front. I was accompanied my Mom, Dad, Didi, Brother, my Bro in law, and my sweetest nephew Tanmoy too. He came to see me off till the gate sitting happily on the airport trolley !
There Jacob & Rupika was already waiting with her family and soon Prachi also arrived. So all 4 of us were together when we said good bye to our families. Still my adrenalin rush was missing.
Our flight was at 11 PM, and soon every one arrived. Himaka had a new haircut, and so did Prachi. We made some last minute calls to our close friends in NID and then we were off into the aircraft. Some great adventure and excitement was awaited.
